re: Mercedes station wagon.

About the time that Mercedes introduced its station wagon, I remember seeing a comic hit on this topic. It went something like this:

A man walks into an auto dealer. "I need something to haul my junk around in. What do you have for, say, sixty or seventy grand?"

We test drove the current E320 sedan. Wonderful car. The rear seat is genuinely comfy for me, and that is a big achievement.
I sat in the E-class station wagon at the show. I was in a state of pure undiluted material lust. The $60K sticker was a big fat dreambreaker however. That's almost two Burbs!!
No need to duck. If it were half the price, the E-class wagon would be a classy compromise. But the rear bench - can it be rigged to take a pair of baby seats? Taht would be a requirement to achieve the capacity cutoff.

Didn't mean to imply you were Vietnamese sized.
Oh my. Didn't mean to imply you were my size either. My turn to duck...
