Saving stuff at times...

I use Microsoft Office 97.

In Excell, get the AutoSave add-in loaded and set it up to save as frequently as you like.

In Word, click Tools, choose Options, & click Save tab. Check 'Save Auto-recovery' box and set the time delay to your risk tolerance.

Many other software packages have the same feature. I put it into my programming text editor: It's an easy feature to implement.

In all cases, the software I'm using just saves the document I'm working on at the moment. I don't know of any 'general' OS based utility to do this on a system-wide basis.

Hope this helps, PW.
