RDM,

Sources at the Computex show in Taipei today revealed that special memory called ESDRAM will be needed for the chip Transmeta will unleash on the world later this year.

E(S)DRAM has been around for years, and is a great technology. I am baffled why it hasn't taken over the market already.

The only DRAM which can actually make a significant dent in the latency problem is EDRAM, which reads page hits out of an SRAM cache.
