Justabid.com chairman and CEO Justawerkinstiff told security
analysts packed into a Wall Street bucket shop that he has
rejected Tulip.com's bid to take over his company. He added
negotiations continue with Microsoft, but a new sticking
point has arisen, namely that he wants the new name of
the merged company to be Justabob-Microsoft with a ticker
symbol of JM. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Bill Gates had
planned to rename the company Microsoft-Justabob with a symbol
of MJ. The other company to be included in the deal,
bobbrinker.com, has been unavailable for comment. Shares in
justabid.com and bobbrinker.com surged to record highs Wednesday
based on the $200 billion takeover offer in the rumor mill.
Analysts said the huge potential deal turned the entire internet
group around Wednesday including Yahoo and Amazon.com among others.

If you capitalize it, then it accepts it.

David,

>>>
Tulip.com has just made a 24 billion offer for Justabid.com.
>>>
This a bigger insult than Gates' first offer. Thank goodnes Justa is in seclusion. He couldn't take this kind of cheap shot. HA!

>>>
I have a friend who works in a building across the way from the Justabid.com campus and he said there have been a number of limousines in and out all day. It's dark there now but the lights are still on in the board room.
>>>
That is the Mary Kay gang.

>>>
Apparently, there is a guy in there who looked like he just got off the golf links, Frankie Lane or something is his name, my buddy thinks.
>>>
Hmmm.

>>>
If anything can re-establish the internet stock rally, this will.
>>>
Justa and I are going to try reverse stock splits. Amazing, the price will go up automatically. What a deal!

>>>
(BTW, can anyone tell me why the word, "internet" is not recognized by the spell checker on SI? Is this a sign?)
>>>
Interesting.

Regarding the SI spell checker and the word "internet" - yes it is true that internet is not accepted without capitalization. Interestingly though, the spell checker used to accept "internut", but suddenly stopped the day after this fact was pointed out on the MDA thread. If internut was good enough for the spell checker, it's good enough for me (even though they have deleted it). <VBG>
