We have been reacting to rates worries for a few weeks already...

re: Rates

Since the market looks out six months, the market is anticipating reduced earnings from companies since borrowing will be more expensive for not only consumers but corporations, etc etc. reducing the amount of buying power that consumers have and the amount of available funds corporations have for expansion, or other revenue increasing ventures. Also, margin rates could be increased, reducing the available funds for investors to invest.
