To all - I did a little research into the S&P 500 (and replacements).

First of all, here is a website with a nice list of all 500 stocks in the S&P :

cboe.com

(Warning -- this site takes a while to "load.")

A few thoughts -- there clearly ARE a least a few foreign (or, primarily foreign) companies in the S&P (e.g. Unilever, Royal Dutch Petroleum).

(There are also some really dumb, little companies in there).

If I had to guess, I would suspect that AirTouch out could reasonably be expected to lead to Qualcomm in, OR ... Vodafone in.

Obviously, I sure do wish (it were a nice day ... (?)) that Qualcomm ends up being the one.

(Another note -- AirTouch says that their acquisition by Vodafone should be completed by late June or early July (1999)).

Jon.
