Heinz,

But so many things are so different today..like widespread flow of information, speed of data transfer, internet sites like this and many more, cheap cost of commissions, the extent of participation by the average citizen, etc... is so much different than in the 1920's, I am always amazed when a comparison is made between the two time periods.

I was in Japan with a close relationship to the Japanese investment industry in the 80's and 90's and saw how their Bull died, it wasn't sharp and violent, it was a sharp rise in interest rates along with slow and or in-action by many real estate investors and banks who were the basis of their bubble, then a long slow decline that killed it..

BTW I am not a Perma Bull, I was very bearish from 4000-8000 mainly because I was in Japan at the time and everything was so depressing there, but once I got back to the U.S. and really had a chance to see what was happening I revised my opinions.
