**off topic except for SF Bay folks*** Uncle Frank, unfortunately from a traffic viewpoint I 'get' to cover north and south bay thus accidentally becoming an expert at Sprint zones, which can include parts of Palo Alto about a 7 iron from Stanford for god's sake. What a joke--there you are with silicon practically oozing from the sidewalk--and nary a base station in range. I hope Sprint monitors this thread. Are you sure you're DSL-less? We get an army of DSL salespersons [note PC terminology] coming through the door, thicker 'n flies only 20 minutes north of you. Call Concentric and they'll fix you up with DSL from Covad in a jif. Ditto FlashPoint, Rhythms Net, even Pac Bell: there's a zillion of those guys. Not hip to cable modem--TCI doesn't seem anywhere near as aggressive. Best, Mike
