WHAT THIS GUY THINKS..HE HAS DONE HIS HOMEWORK

12free.co.uk

HE GAVE IT THUMBS DOWN : X-Stream Slaps adverts all over the place while you access them, recently gave 0800 access at certain times (for those who could get a connection) Online signup available but still over-writes your previous settings.

It is a condition of many Free ISP's that you can only access their services while connected to them, email and webspace especially. Although you can set Windows profiles for 'other users' and allow them to use individual settings I don't want to have to do this because I'm using several ISP's at once and to exit Windows to use another profile isn't on. It would be nice to be able to swap configurations when going on-line with one or the other - IE5 and Outlook Express 5 now allows me to set this up for email at least. SoftNet bugged me by having Yahoo as their 'home page', they used a frame border for their own bits and put Yahoo big and large in the main frame (seems to have changed recently). X Stream put loads of banner adverts on their pages and you'll need to find a way of breaking out of frames to do much serious surfing.

To to set the record straight on this - If you expect to use the services of a 'free' provider then they expect you to USE their service, many prohibit access to outgoing email and uploading web pages unless you are actually connected to them. After all, this is how they make their money. However, users have found that this is not always the case and I know of many people who have settled with one service which they use all the time yet continue to use the email of another service. You will probably find that you can collect email from anywhere (especially if you use the new IE5/Outlook Express 5 - I do) but cannot send it unless you connect to the actual ISP. (I'm repeating myself on purpose here to make the point clear....)

- To My friends across the pond and in the states :

I am not short the stock. I am only looking out for the other investor. I feel that there is some very unusual activity in the stock. Let's look at some facts...First the stock traded as low as .50 on 4/5/99 3800 shares traded. 4/6 zero trades~ 4/7 500 closed 1.00~ 4/8 600 closed 1.00~4/9 3000 closed 7/8~ 4/12 zero trades~4/13 3000 closed 1.00~4/14 13000 closed 5/8~4/15 zero trades~4/16 zero trades~4/19 zero trades~4/20 zero trades~4/21 zero trades~4/22 17200 closed 1.00~4/23 zero trades~4/26 176600 closed 1 3/16.~~~5/10 1055300 closed 5 1/8.

- The board hype : People posting that this company was never to go public and that they filed the wrong papers that is why they are trading on the BB.

- The amount of posts on the Yahoo boards before the run up.

- As for the link to Bloomberg, I don't believe that the site will allow you to access the full service. This service runs about 1500. Per month. Under that symbol, they did have news on 6/2 from Noiseworks.
