Is the margin call a half-mil? Or less?

Humbly report, K44B, the idea is about as well though out as the market transaction that got you into this financial position in the first place, and the health impact of this idea on you will mirror the impact of your original decision on the health of your finances.

You are not at your best right now - a trend in motion to use a market metaphor.

Stop the trend. This is the bottom. Get help so you can go back up!

K44B,
I had to run and catch a plane earlier. Interestingly there was a tidbit in the inflight magazine that may interest you. (sorry if this has all been resolved, 100 messages since I was here last).

From Southwest Airlines Inflight Magazine (last page)
1994: Year in which John Dahl agreed to donate a kidney to his sister's fiance', Duluth Minnesota, millionaire and three time divorce' Richard McNutt, after McNutt had given his sister a $21,500 engagement ring.

$150,000: Amount for which Dahl and his sister are suing McNutt for failing to keep his promise to love and care for his sister in return of a lifesaving kidney.

Further lets crunch some numbers....
You mentioned the amount of $500,000.
This means that you must find someone that needs a kidney, that is a compatible tissue match AND has $500,000 to spend on your kidney.

I will be making most of this up, but I will try to work the numbers in your favor.

There are approximately 5 billion people in the world.
Approximately 2% of these will have $500,000 in assets = 100 Million
Of these 100 Million people that have $500,000, let's say that 2% need a kidney (this is generous). That gives you 2 Million people in your pool.
Let's say that 2.5% of those people will be a tissue match. That gives you a grand total of 50,000 people out of 5,000,000,000 that would meet all of your criteria...and that is conservative.

You would be better off playing the lotto. You need to look at other alternatives.

Again, sorry if you have been swayed already,
JXM
