Any miscellaneous checks are deposited into a local Credit Union account. That way...if any businesses require a "local" check I have that covered. The Credit Union is conveniently located within my husbands hospital where he works...and he just drops them off. Surprisingly everyone accepts my out of state checks. I guess since Hawaii is very transitory and lots of tourists...and they have excellent computerized systems to verify "checks", it is not a problem.

I opened a local account at a bank here in Hawaii...but they charged for every little thing, so I closed it. And I found that it was not necessary to have it...so I just held onto my old account on the mainland.

And besides, any paper checks that come into my hot little hands...goes into my E*Trade account!! <gg>
