I bot a bunch of UIS 2000 leaps a couple years ago.
Liquidating them would mean tons of capital gain tax.
I hate that (not the gain :).

What would happen were I to excercize them to acquire
the stock (I still like this bugger) ? Will it only
adjust my cost basis to the (option cost + strike price)
and begin a new holding period ? In other words, embed
the gain into the stock holding.

If you have had similar experience, I would appreciate
your feedback.
