Bob,
If gold company management does'nt wake up to reality soon, and start closing up more mines, this tailspin in the price of the metal could drag on and on and on. I realize that it is extremely difficult if not impossible to close down many South African mines because of flooding problems, but something must be done to further cut back on the supply, or else. If supply is cut down to a trickle, not even the power-that-be could stop a steady price rise to more reasonable levels. But they (management) refuse to wake up to the reality of the situation in far too many cases. Yogi
