Linda, Call your broker. They "should" let you exercise the calls and then simultaneously sell the VLSI stock at market. Regardless of your account funds. At least mine does. Or did. But they are idiots anyway. So they could have been very wrong, but too stupid to know it. And the way I figure it, exercising the calls is free, then a cheap commission for sell of the stock. Sure beats a high option trade commission to close the position.
