Hi Henry - thanks for the article. Yes, it seems that China will need to walk the tight wire, whether she can find any diversion or not. OOH, she should learn from Russia as an extreme case of dislocation; OTOH, she knows [for most of the 90s] she has to shed the dead weight if she is to herald in a new economic era. Like it or not, I think WTO is the best chance for China. I really think the US should leverage her ability to get China into WTO. But timing is crucial. best, Bosco
