drew....re: "mikey and the big guys.."

so mikey beat ibm at the "pc game"....ibm declares game over....beat cpq, hwp, nec, et al.....so what's the new game, and the challenge..wouldn't mind ibm attempting a buy out of dell, for it's prowess in manufacturing...combine this with ibm r&d,service, and world wide rep, you end up with an incredible company....

as the field narrows, and dell the only player...strategic alliances may become more difficult....and reliable partners harder to find...

dell can grow the hardware end....but needs long term to go beyond, and when they do......the task much more herculean, not white boxes anymore....

the bigger dell gets, the more dependent they become on others for dell to maintain success....imagine a rift or product/ supply problem with intc or msft.......can you see how it would effect dell bto model..

dell a great company, but "mikey" speaks boldly in "direct from dell" of vision, which includes 3-5 year plans...be nice if he'd share a bit with the loyal....take care, ed a.
