About deleting them -- I'd make sure you've a recent back-up first, then be cautious.

Good advice...Here's a perfect example of a good time to use Drive Image, which you asked about last week. I'll make an image and then allow the flagged dupes to be deleted, and see what damage incurrs if any. If there's a problem I can just restore the image and be back to where I was before CloneMaster did its work.

Clone Master does define what it considers to be a duplicate file. The file contents have to match although the name can be different. What they don't define is flagging criteria. My initial fear is that a file may have to be in a particular location for an app to find it. Hence different apps putting the same file in different locations.
