Some news on the Ritalin chiral switch from CELG:

Message 9928413

Hard to know what to make of this latest SEPR spat with the FDA. SEPR likely now has more data than the FDA has seen, and so maybe this is a fight they believe they can win. Don't know if it's worth antagonizing the bureaucrats, though.

>>SEPR has a very aggressive maybe even arogant management style. They were incredibly bold to grab the single isomer opportunity. Some of that same agressiveness that served them well in the past could be hurting them here.<<

Vector1 wrote this in reference to the FDA letter. I agree and would add that management is a large part of the reason I continue to hold this stock with great confidence. Not sure of TB's training (Bob called him a scientist) but he had been in Sales a long time with Millipore, and that is his orientation. One quote in particular sticks in my mind, "Marketing should guide R&D, not the other way around". I'd much rather have (please no offence to the scientists out there!) a salesman as CEO than some PhD who has discovered a molecule that some venture capital guys think can make them some money.

Salesmen aren't known for hiding their light under a bushel. And that, in short, is how I see the FDA flap. Our company is run by salesmen. Great. What is Bill Gates, a computer whiz, or a marketing genius?
