Robert,

I think QC should come in around $2.30 to $2.40 for FY99, with the September qtr being the first one that will give us some indication of what next year will bring. The thin phone should be out by then.

Royalty payments is always a potential surprise to me. I believe Alex Cena is very conservative in estimating global phone and CDMA growth. If CDMA's portion of the pie is just 5-10% larger, QC's royalty revenue could explode. So much of it goes to the bottom line. $10 million here, $10 million there and pretty soon, earnings would be up a dime or two without lifting a figure.

According to First Call report I got this morning current estimates are 61 cents for quarter and 66 cents for next quarter. High estimate is 67 cents. 75 cents is way above these numbers. I am now expecting 80 cent range.

I think the news gets even better....These results are most likely operating earnings, which include any losses associated with the two months that the Q still owned the infrastructure division. The loss last quarter due to infrastructure was 19 cents (.60-.41). I would think that an extra dime might be possible. This would result in a pro-forma number of somewhere around 90 cents. This would then be the number that analysts used going forward.
