That this announcement refers only to the 8-port switch is not bothersome to me at all. That being said, you point is well taken about whether or not __-port switches will be Ancor's. If you follow the Yahoo thread, and some comments made there by "a_rapport" and one poster claiming to be from Sun, you may conclude that __-port business remains to be decided. That being said, however, the press release comments by Sun may bear upon your question as well as it relates to larger capacity switches.

Looking at this another way, is it better to have the 8-port deal, or not to have it?

I still believe, as I have posted before, that each OEM will have at least two sources of availability for switches, both from a price and availability standpoint. I also believe that Ancor and others may leaprfrog each other with particular customers from time to time.

By the way, what has Brocade announced recently?
