Thanks. I assume you do this to reign in the risk, with potential for doubles rather than home runs or strike outs. I will have to think about this as I have only bought calls/puts... had lately considered writing some... since apparently some 80% of all options expire worthless according to conventional wisdom (tho I realize that does not necessarily mean I have an 80% chance of winning if I am the writer/seller, but it sure would seem the odds are better). I do think the last part of your last sentence is wrong ("on the way to lower ground"). Later, David II
