Plus, the Democratic candidates mostly hugged the center, Indeed they did which is why I'm a dem. Of course if the democrats put forth an earth first candidate or something I wouldn't vote for that person. The republicans didn't do that, they put forth Lungren who is fiercely anti-choice in all cases, pro-gun, anti-environment. Too bad for the republicans they just haven't figured out that extremists don't win. Otoh if the republicans get their act together and find some reasonable people to run their party instead of the nuts that are here now then I might become a republican again. But it won't happen soon because just 3 mos ago the republican chair stated that abortion transcends all other issues in terms of relevance in this state... can the republicans possibly dig their grave any deeper out here?
