Hey Dave here's an angle.... Anybody beside me notice that a stock like NTBK, AMTD or SONE were in the stratosphere around mid-april...now they have backed out 60% in some cases? Banks announcing on line deals were laughing before analysts as they said, 'yea we're going to get a web site too', only to see their stocks soar. Could the Why Be...that Banks & Brokers like Bank One, First Union, Wells and Merrill all declared War on these up-start pee-ons wantabees, like the CEO of IBM suggested they would do? Competition...what a bitch! Kinda pulls the wind out of your sails and Internet Stocks...Unless that increased competition/war benefits somebody. I can just see the Pitch on CheckFrees Secondary...It don't matter, it don't matter at all..these guys supply Ammo. Like NITE is a clear winner on one segment,brokerage, suppling the backend for the on line Brokerage War, Merrill might lose, the other full service guys may suffer but not NITE.....and then CKFR has no boundries as financial segments compete for the complete account access the consumer is moving to....dominating in Banking, Brokerage, PFM & Portal for the Consumers on line CheckBook functions. Point..they are a Mile Wide and a Mile Deep on this do-hicky-me-bob.
