Greenline - no that is absolutely wrong. They let you do whatever you want. The only time you can run into a problem is if you are fully margined and then cash out. The system doesn't update until the next morning so you can't trade on-line until the update has gone through. Even then however, you can go through a trader at a marginally higher cost to do your trades. They wouldn't have many customers if you they didn't let you trade!!!

Otherwise, since they upgraded their system 6-8 weeks ago, I find they've been excellent with a few minor exceptions. The only thing I don't like is that you have to go through a trader to short - a nuisance but I don't short that often any way.

Momentum on MLT just perked up the last 15 minutes. Some big orders starting to stack in and it just broke through $8.00. Some good crosses too. What I find particularly interesting is that Midland has been buying all day (currently up 138,500 shares, sold none) and they continue to buy strongly even at $8.05 which is the current high for the day. Short/medium chart on this one is very attractive too.

I'm in.

Kevin

edit: and this activity/increase on a day when the tech sector is "off" too. Interesting.

NCT
Has had some bids (one at changing prices?) chasing it up for the last hour. Just broke 25.00 but still looks a little light on bid MD. Looks like some one is trying to accumulate.I am long and hopeful (IMHO)
Edit an order for about 7k keeps moving up, well he has eaten through all the asks to 25.15

Greenline: I use only cash and no margin. I have frequently bought and sold stocks in one day with Greenline. I don't have to wait for a buy or sell to settle after 3 days, and as long as I know that I don't have a negative balance I can trade as much as I want. Make sure you are comfortable with this as trading frequently on an intra-day basis can be too much for a beginning trader. If you mess up, you have to settle within 3 days. Don't buy more than you can afford and make sure you settle everything within 3 days, or else your account will have more restrictions on it because you can't "free ride" in your account by using Greenline's money to make money. Also, you can't buy a stock one day, sell it the next day, and think that you will settle in time without adding additional cash. The sell will settle one day after your buy settles, and that is "free riding". When I first traded a couple of years ago, I had a restriction put on my account for unknowingly doing this by not settling in time. It was no fun after that, believe me, until that restriction was lifted.

I don't know what your personal situation is, but I just wanted to make new traders aware.

On occasion, though, Greenline will cancel a trade because the person reviewing the trade didn't see that it would balance out and assumes you don't have the money. This has certainly pissed me off.
