Larry,

Last I looked, over 7,826 new buyers a day ( 18,000,000/$2300 asp) purchase a Dell without ever having felt the touch of the keyboard, or how nicely it fits on the desk.

This figure is also up a mere 300% from last year.

2,856,490 buyers would disagree with your last point.

Larry,

I've never been able to test drive a PC before buying it.

They're never equiped with the software that I use and probably never will be.

I think the risk of a keyboard that doesn't feel right is much less than the risk of a PC that won't run Office 97 well with all the other tasks that I like to have going concurrently.

FWIW,
Ian.

No, but I have used them in the past. I know that the keyboard feel is very important to some folks, but I've used so many different ones that it doesn't bother me. I bought the Dell because I know they make a quality machine and I got more for my money. But, your point is a good one, I wish that Dell had outlets so we could get some hands on. My daughter is ready to buy a new machine and she is afraid to buy one without 'trying' it first.

tell me
How did you try the DELL PC before you bought it ????
Like did the key board feel right, etc ?
That is what DELL doesn't have to offer.....yet !
Do you buy cars without test driving them?(g)
