Yes, many did look at this thread just that way; did think it was all about comedy.

You know, mark, it reminded me of those odd, slightly surreal scenes you see on the news sometimes. Some sad and extreme event has occurred. Maybe somebody jumped off a building. Maybe someone was shot, or died of an overdose in the street. An individual in the foreground is being interviewed. In the background, you see the comedy brigade waving and laughing and mugging for the viewing public.

Of course this is different, because we don't know how sad the situation actually is. How much suffering, or desperation, may be involved. We have no idea. But maybe it's a riot, as you say.
