HECTOR HUBERT, I would like to claim your prize: I voted 105 7/8. Let me explain:

I was watching AOL until 1540 when I left the PC and hit the road. Used my Quotrek.
Watched the action. Slow between 3PM AND 340, ~17 mill. sh. Then pace picked up
and 4 mill shs were snapped up the last 20 min between 105.5 and 106.5.
That was almost 25% of all the day's vol of 21 mill shares!!! That looked to me like whoever was panicking and dumping there were a WHOLE LOT of hungry folks thinking 106 was a good buy.

I thought it was.
So I weighed in the pros and cons.

-first off:
The Utilities were unchanged. In fact while this thread has been agonizing for the past 4 weeks worried
about interest rates the Utilities have gone straight up except for a brief touch on the 10 DMA.

In fact today they were unchanged:
investor.msn.com
So they are not worried.

-Second:
- unemployment claims went up!!! . That means employment numbers will be weaker
tomorrow? < VBG>

Wall Str Jour June 4:
the Labor Department said the number of Americans filing
first-time claims for unemployment insurance rose 4,000 to 305,000 last
week. The four-week moving average, a better gauge because it accounts
for seasonal fluctuations, increased by 500 to 304,250.

-I am extremely comfortable with AOL's broadband plan.

There are however
many others who are so uncomfortable with it that they are trying to imitate it:
Excite@Home Message 9944988
Can't blame 'em: 50 mill + eyeballs is a big number compared to 500000 for EXCITE/ ATHM
And, "BellSouth To Test Fiber Optic Internet Access June 3, 1999"
The Baby Bells are going to be up Ma Bell's A-- so fast it won't even be funny. And of course AOL will be written all over them.

And so HECTOR I voted with my pocket book:

At 1550 and 1555 I out two orders in one for 106 and one for 105 3/4.

They were both filled sequentially. Average price 105 7/8.
AOL closed at 105 3/4.

Do I win?

TA

You said :

Final number is $106!!!!

There was a tie:(Within .50 cents)

High Plains Drifter tagged it at $105 1/2.
Jenne tagged it at $106 1/2.

I guess nobody wants to commit new money to the markets until tomorrow's report.

I hope for our sake that everything is priced in.

Thanks Everybody....

Hector
