Cosmo...

Marketing at its best. Think about it this way. What better way to motivate the Chinese to migrate to CDMA than to tell them that they can't have it? The only thing better is to tell them they can't have it because it makes it harder for us to spy on them?!?! This is comical. Right up there with the Clinton administration's spin on the Cox report. Talk about belly laughs. Imagine the audacity required to tell the American people that it is correct and appropriate for China to spy on us but that WE were negligent in our failure to stop them?? Well...I guess I should go and steal myself a new Porsche; after all, it's the dealer's obligation to prevent the theft.

Also keep in mine that Ericsson will be paying Qualcomm royalties and most likely buying ASICs too. So a ban on direct U.S. sales of CDMA equipment into China...if it actually ever happened...would adversely impact MOT and LU, but leave Qualcomm unscathed.

Still...the whole discussion is just too funny.

All the best,

Gregg
