To Robert. Others here are much better able to answer this, but think that all this is crystal clear - the Q receives exactly the same amount of money in royalty fees whatever flavor of 3rd gen CDMA is used, WCDMA or CDMA2000. There is no difference, zero, nada. Chaz

Qualcomm's royalties are established by contractual agreement with each licensee. The contractual agreement with Ericsson does not differentiate between the royalties derived from WCDMA and cdma2000. The patent pool approach, to which you allude, was attempted by the Europeans but rejected by Qualcomm.
