David,

Did a search of the Illinois government sites....found nothing on a possible 60 machine deal with the dept. of Corrections.

But it is an interesting story....as the Corrections Department in Illinois bought several of the TP600 Mug Shot machines about 18 months ago.

We will try to get a response from IDX tomorrow.....although I would think "no comment" or "I don't know anything about it" would be the expected line.

The Yahoo poster said it was a story broadcast on a Spingfield, Illinois TV newscast.

Shades of Cook County?........Man we scooped the heck out of that baby......Forced IDX to announce it within a few days....if my memory serves me right.

Rumor to announcement......The Commission is on top of it!

David,
Wouldn't you agree that the Siemens biometric smartcard system passage you posted seems to endorse Identix F3 technology? I guess it is the best of both worlds when you control the two best technologies competing to become the standard - IDX F3 technology with a microprocessor and memory in the scanner and minutiae-based IDT scanner with the templates stored in a central repository.
