I agree, I'd wait till next week before we consider buying Quantum. As to whether not this becomes a buying opportunity, it depends on the Storage business as you say. When I read the announcement, I would've preferred to see some positive mention on Storage.

Also, if Quantum's in trouble there may be announcement coming from other makers as well. A series of bad reports might easily take the price back to $15.

That certainly would be a buying opportunity. So, patience will probably be a virtue. If we don't get a sell off, this might prove the market has realized the value of a split company and they're willing to take a piece of losing hard drive business to get the undervalued storage business.

Should be interesting.
