Yes, $250,000 is "CHUMP CHANGE" for institutional MM's and some individuals, but what I was inferring is that given my limited time to observe the market I was offering a friendly opinion regarding a relatively "sizeable" purchase. As most of us know, large scale institutional executions usually require some time to process and are often executed in "batches". Hence, in having been able to read between the lines of my post (i.e. Smells like MM money") this is what the $250,000 was an indicator of. Given the circumstances I know my opinion is no more absurd than yours of some Joe Blow covering a "small portion" of a short. However, your statement that MM's don't care if a stock is cheap or expensive is truly absurd. This may be the case in a crude and simplistic sense of investing instances(i.e. Internet trading or discount brokerage, etc.), but most true and reputable MM's are responsible for managing an individual's or institution's money efficiently and effectively. In case you couldn't figure it out, I am not talking about someone who merely executes trades that are spoon fed to them.

P.S. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even you, but their is no need to be abrasive about it. I was in no way, shape, or form cramming my opinion down anyone's throat. It was just that, an opinion of an observation. Then again, it is easy for some people to disparage a post they don't take the time to fully understand because they are already full of conclusions of their own. By the way, I happened to "observe" among other things, a series of quite a few sizeable purchases today as well including one for 20,000 shares.
