SSB's analyst Gardner touting Sears' sales , maybe "pipeline fill"

AAPL's "color coded" iMAC inventory requirement probably supercharged the size of Sears initial order and may spike AAPL's sales this quarter .

Reported at Ind. Investor site:

" Apple getting its iMac into Sears stores is significant.

According to Sears spokesperson Peggy Palter, most Sears shoppers tend to be first time buyers.

'The iMac is a great computer for the first time buyer,' said Palter. She noted that the iMac will be sold in all Sears stores that have computer sales, which is almost every Sears store.

She also pointed out that Sears sells some IBMs, but they 'don't sell a large assortment...

SSB's analyst Gardner summed it up:
-----
" Gardner recommends investors start building positions in Apple
now, before the MacWorld Expo.

If there is any catalyst that is of significance here, it is the addition of the 800 Sears doors that Apple has entered with its iMac computer, which could lean toward another earnings surprise in a couple of weeks. "

Sears also has the most active dept. store credit card - hope they will include iMAC mailers .
