<None of you are convincing the other of your position.>

Yeah, I know that. So why bother to debate at all? Maybe it's for the benefit of the lurkers who sit in the middle.

Then again, debates that take on a religious fervor is the norm on the Internet, or in a free society in general. Nothing is new under the sun.

As for your questions, well, most of them are asking for inside information, like Intel's sales for April and May. If we knew the answers, we wouldn't be sharing them with you unless we wanted to go to jail, no? :-O

In my opinion, Intel is sticking to its guidance of "flat to slightly lower revenues for Q2." There hasn't been any earth-shattering news that would suggest anything vastly different from the guidance, except for a few hot-shot analysts who find it grand to wag the dog.

Re: "And Scumbria, do you actually believe that anything you say is taken seriously by others that are pro-intc? That is my point! Your debate has taken on a religious fervor with no converts. "

Much of what Scumbria says IS taken seriously, much is not. He has provided valuable insight into aspects of CPU architecture and design that I was not aware of before, and I'm sure others feel the same. It may not seem so to an "outsider" but it's true nonetheless. We can respect others views without completely agreeing with them.

Andreas RE: "Does anyone know intc's . . . "

Intel keeps very quiet on the kinds of questions you are asking. If you follow some of the Q&A at the conference calls, you'll notice that analyst always ask for "Numbers of Celerons shipped." etc. and never get an answer. That's why you see so much guessing and speculation on volumes, asp's, let alone more sensitive stuff like yields, utilizations, and costs.

I don't miss your point, but maybe you do. Let's go over your questions, one at a time :

>> (1) "Does anyone know intc's sales for the month of April?"
(2) "Does anyone know intc's sales for the month of May?"
(3) "Does anyone know the number of celeron and p3 chips shipped in April and May?"
(4) "Does anyone have any info regarding capacity utilization at intc's plants for April
and/or May?"
(5) "Does anyone know the current average selling price for any of intc's chips?"
(6) "Does anyone know if any of intc's recent acquisitions are expected to be dilutive or
accretive and if so how much?"
(7) "Does anyone out there work for intc and if so what are you hearing regarding
earnings, sales, etc.?" <<

You don't give a damn about the answer to any of those questions ! What you want to know is what will the price of Intel be in the future. Why don't you just ask ?

I think each of us, to the extent that we can, attempt to answer that question with the best we can bring every day. Just listen.

Best Trading,
X

Andreas:

Re: I certainly don't want to tread on your first amendment right to spew technobabble or more correctly technical data regarding your expertise. Please keep it up.

Feel free to pose your questions - maybe you'll get answers to some of them (but as someone mentioned earlier, many of your Q's would require the disclosure of proprietary information, which isn't going to happen here). As for trying to change the character of this thread - forget it. There are plenty of us who enjoy the technical info, as well as the bull/bear banter.
