My guess: some serious consolidation in this sector begins sometime in the next 4-9
months.

How about QNTM and MXTR? QNTM would benefit from MXTR's strength in the desktop and MXTR doesn't expect to have and enterprise product until late in 2000. Mr Brown can run the tape business and Mr. Cannon can run the HDD biz.

Sam,

Yeah, but (as I understand it) BigFoot is not designed for the sub-$1,000 space ... it is just a cheap, standard desktop ... must be awfully difficult to compete on a price basis with the U-4 with a more complex drive like BigFoot.
