Are there any competitors apart of BRCD? It might make sense to try and compare the current and future potential PSR of BRCD with that of ANCR. Unfortunately, I could not get into Edgar to dig out these data, anyone has these handy?

From the 10-K

Brocade Communications Systems, Inc., Vixel, and McData
have developed Fibre Channel switches. Other companies may also be developing
switches. In addition, a number of companies, including Emulex Corp, Q Logic
Corp., JNI, Gadzoox Corp., G2 Corp., and Interphase Corp. are developing Fibre
Channel products other than switches, such as adapters or hubs, and the Company
anticipates that these and other companies will introduce commercial Fibre
Channel products in the near future.

I still was unable to determine if the $100 MM deal with Sun is a one year deal or a multiyear PO to be drawn on.

IMO this is probably a multi-year non-exclusive agreement.

Regards.
Rajiv

Zeev.

1. Their only formidable competitor at this point in time (i.e. the only vendor whose switch is in serious evaluation at a major player) is Brocade Communications.

2. Ancor believes their share of the switch market will be over 300M in 2001. Don't argue with me on this point, I will just say 'hearsay'

3. Brocade Communications still has a market cap 4 times that of Ancor even though Ancor has landed two of the top five storage companies in the world. By the way I am not saying Brocade is over-valued....

4. One should start to believe Ancor management's claims that they will be disappointed if they don't win 1/3 - 1/2 of the switch buisness going forward.

5. If Ancor is really going to come out with a switch at the prices we are hearing about, who is going to buy a hub next year??? Who is going to buy a competing switch?

Food for cranial consumption.
