CHINA, June 04, AsiaPort -- DVD market is expected to go into full operation in China this year. DVD sector is going to be a new economic growth point of the home appliance industry and information industry at the beginning of the 21st century. China will become the second largest consumption market only after the United States. Changes have happened to the outside factors like the package price, software supply and regional limitations that have curbed the growth of the DVD market. The price of an imported DVD player is about 3,500 RMB yuan, while a domestic one is about 2,500 RMB yuan. Moreover, big-screen color TV has been in great demand. Experts predict that after a period of coexistence with VCD, DVD will become the dominant product in the market.
