Re "using Java language to replace MS windows"

Do you know where Java applets run and look the best? On Microsoft IE.

Dragonspawn; Ah yes the famous Motorola and IBM longterm planning that brought us the Microchannel and Iridium. Both IBM and Motorola have a proprietary mindset. They seek local monopolies that are totally immune to competition. The Microchannel was a dead horse soon after launch, like the Intel SLOT1(which has now been abandoned, yet IBM clung to the microchannel for far too long, Intel sees the writing on the wall). Motorola overcharged for cel phones and Nokia and Ericcson ate Motorola's lunch for them. What makes you think they have learned their lesson?, they may feel that they can carve a huge monopoly zone in China and use that base to cover the earth. recall the japs tried this with computers.....computers you could not give away in north America...yet they were beauties of ergonomic designcraft....just useless with CPM based on Z-80 when we had gone to x86. So count not the chickens prior to the hatching ceremony.

Welcome to Planet Earth.

I guess you didn't get the U.S. News on Planet Mars.

To everyone: Isn't it obvious that dragonpawn is a put-on?

Dragonpawn,

Re:" Why MS will collapse and INTC will follow? About a year ago, I read

IBM is training tens of thousands of programmers using Java language
to replace MS windows. IBM is also developing powerful chips to
replace INTC's. Its first step is to help AMD to be competitive with
INTC then replace AMD.

MOT is making good progress on Power PC chips and as time goes by
it will be INTC's another big competitor. Chinese manpower is young
and huge. INTC's production base is mostly in Japan and USA where
the manpower is small, expensive and aging.

INTC is falling behind in decisions in many areas! It could not
compete in the future."

Thanks for an excellent post!!!

Could you possibly find us a link to the article - I would love to read it ASAP.

As an AMD long I am worried that MOT and IBM are going to use AMD and drop them once they have their way them.

Keep up the informative posts,

Best regards,

Kash.

That's a good one. I'm sure the U.S. government will be absolutely thrilled to hear about that.

What's next? Apple looking to build a huge investment in intellectual property by hiring all the scientists from the planet Vulcan? Microsoft looking to the Borg to restructure their business? (Actually, that Borg theory might not be too far from the truth ...)

Dragonpawn,

Thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts behind your opinion.

When the reasoning behind the opinion is explained, it helps an investor make an assessment on the final recommendation.

I don't particularly agree with some of your reasoning, specifically, I would counter and say, MS has trained hundred of thousands of developers on MS OS. I forgot how many Win-apps there are, but each one constitutes a team of developers essentially trained on MS-OS. With all of these apps and resources applied to MS-OS, it would be hard to displace MS OS.

Given the direction of the Internet: first we had text, then we had static graphics, and now we will have full-motion video, what's your opinion on Java when it comes to handling full-motion TV quality video, considering its an interpretive language?

Regards,
Amy J

<<About a year ago, I read an article .....>>

You really ought to read articles at more frequent intervals. Since then Craig and Zemin have had a cozy chat with undisclosed consequences, but doubtless very important. Craig presented Zemin with a classic defective P5 key ring, and Zemin gifted Craig with a bronzed copy of China's latest stolen 88 thermonuclear design and the latest Chinese slide-rule.
Oh, I see you've busy chasing cats and dogs like ZILA and CNKT. Must keep you to busy to read about chips.

Dragonprawn,

Why MS will collapse and INTC will follow? About a year ago, I read
an article about IBM, Motorola will build industrial empire with the
massive Chinese manpower.

Are you the guy that brought in that article, with a bright red background, that said the Chinese had a billion, or was it a trillion transistor chip, that was going to put Intel out of business? If not, you might as well have been.
