This is so remarkably accurate. Indeed our humanity makes perfect suspense impossible and futile. We are trapped. Even the most ardent believer will be profoundly shocked by the nature of God. Nevertheless, there is a way out, and because it must transcend the weakness of humanity, it necessarily will make little sense to our world. As an atheist I simply had no respect for faith. I ridiculed it, and thought it barbaric, anti-intellectual. I see now that faith is not knowledge via the intellect or even via an overriding or short-circuiting of the intellect. It is God's way of pulling us out. (Off to bed)
