Give me a break, Ed. I have never attempted to hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle. I bet I could if I really wanted to. I have, however, attempted to hit a former Fed governor in the ass with a bias towards tightening. I aimed left, the FOMC tightened, and wouldn't you know it but I ended up in a sand trap with Alice Rivlin and Robert Rubin.
Rubin hit first. His lofty flop shot landed within three feet of the cup. He sold his Goldman Sachs shares and was damn proud of the timing of the whole thing. Meanwhile Alice Rivlin was holding back tears over her imminent resignation from this administration (rhymes with Jesse Jackson). She pitched a bitch onto the green and was huntin' birdie when I stepped up to the challenge. I busted a move onto the green and laughed at the Clinton cabinet of country clubbers. Rubin sank his putt, Rivlin sank hers, and I sank mine. Rivlin had a birdie. The Fed tightened in late June.

Moral of the story: Who cares?

Rivlin makes a birdie, Fed tightens a quarter basis point. I'm really scared now, Ed.

AOL is ingrained.

Yours in massive correction,

C Nelson
