RCN gets a plug on page 45 of this week's Barron's. Jack Grubman of Smith Barney explains that RCN is "doing what all the cable guys would do if they could start from scratch..."

Smith Barney has a 12 month price target of $75 on RCNC, and goes on to note in their June 1, 1999 research report that if AT&T were to pay as much for RCN as it did for MediaOne on a PER BANDWIDTH PER HOME basis, RCNC would be worth $900/share. This was, of course, a hypothetical suggestion without any consideration given to subscriber base, etc. Interesting, nevertheless...
