<< Why did you not put your money where your thoughts/mouth were? You would be a very rich person today! >>

Take your pick, David:
a. Because I am a lousy trader
b. I don't really have any meaningful money
c. I did, I am, just never told you
d. I was tied up in other investments
e. Too busy playing bridge to follow speculative stocks

<< If you had been a member over the last 2 years would you have trumpeted your "The Internet mania is over..." mantra the 4 or 5 times we have been thru similar patterns just to have been proven wrong by the sharp moves back higher ? >>

By the Internet mania I was referring primarily to a few dozen stocks, many IPOs, that went up 5, 6, 10 times in price in a matter of a few months. Although AOL has had some major corrections, recoveries, and new highs a couple of times over the years, the mania I referred to occurred basically in just 5 to 6 months and I do not believe will be repeated. IMO 80-90% of these stocks will never exceed their recent highs. Many will be acquired; a few will disappear; a small handful may go on to become successful companies.
