Dan B,

Re:" "...laid down the design
rules for etching millions of components onto a chip" may explain how it is that he can come now to create this apparently wonderful silicon film, and how he contributed to the birth of Intel to boot."

Carver did not lay down any such rules.

He (or some of his students) came up with a design style that never worked and was never used by the industry - although they sold a bunch of textbooks.

And he had bugger all to do with founding Fairchild or Intel.

They guy comes out with great impractical ideas that almost never pan out.

This Foveon crap sounds very similar.

And folks expecting a $1Bn to $100Bn valuation for foveon are completely off their rockers!!!

Regards,

Kash
