As you can see, at least since DEC, 98; short interest peaked at 3,966,168 in Feb, 1999. At no time was it 19% as represented. Further, it declined in the succeeding 3 months to 3.1 milioin.

The shorts probably helped this company in the end. The large run to $140 was exacerbated by short covering as the stock literally exploded higher. This allowed the very favorable convert to be issued. I for one thank the shorts. Now all I need is to see $100 again sometime this year. Good luck to all.
