<Have not heard anyone talk of demand not being good. >

Sorry, phrased that wrong. I guess what I meant to say was a lot of companies that had been holding inventory of disk drives are liquidating, creating a supply demand imbalance.

Now comes the big question for the thread. Is this a Quantum problem? Or, is this the first in a series of announcements?

Recently, there was talk about Quantum's Big Foot being phased out because its technology was not up to standard. Could this the hurting Quantum in a way that is more severe?

<With respect to HTCH they have seen some improvement and are cautiously optimistic regarding demand. I continue to be amazed that HTCH receives so little attention given the excellent growth fundamentals of the drive industry as a whole and HTCH's increasing dominance of the suspension business. If there were only four drive companies, one was about to check out and one of the other three had technology several yrears ahead of its competitors as well as highly proprietary technology, I suspect people would find that pretty exciting. -Z>

Sounds like your singing those small cap blues. Let's make a chorus, Hutchinson has become one of my largest holdings.
