Don, that is a viable alternative. That is what AOL is seeking to do. They have money which they obtained through the high value of its shares. They were recently rumored to be buying CBS. That would have given AOL much more credibility and it would have assured the permanence (survival) of its business.

Although under normal circumstances what you are suggesting is a viable alternative strategy, I am not sure that BIDS owns enough of its own shares for it to swap (correct me if I'm wrong).

Inge, no doubt your ideas have worked for certain Inet companies but don't you think it's too late for BII to employ this type of plan?
