as the market continues to move down or toward the shelter of safe investments, that the market psychology will have been damaged to the point that the Y2K thing is taken very seriously causing the downturn to continue longer. Rob, I do think that the September weakness will at least in part be attributed to Y2K...I am not a big subscriber to the problems doomsayers portend, however, I do think earnings are and will continue to be affected, and some computer/soft&hardware procurement will be delayed...this on top of interest rate worries should make for a difficult end of year.
