Arial Systems Enters Into Marketing Relationship With Dialogic ArialView, a turnkey intranet solution for finding associates, utilizes Dialogic's CT Media and CT Connect to facilitate applications like speech recognition and call control
VERNON HILLS, IL (February 26, 1999)-Arial Systems, developer of the ArialView™ turnkey intranet solution for rapidly finding associates throughout an enterprise, has become the latest company to build an application utilizing Dialogic Corporation's CT Media™ and CT Connect™ software solutions. As part of the relationship, both companies have committed to help promote one another's products.
Arial Systems is using CT Media, Dialogic's open software platform for designing computer telephony systems, to drive an ArialView module that allows users to access the information in ArialView's online associate directory by voice. The ArialVoice Browser™ enables personnel either in the office or on the road to quickly find any associate in the organization by name, skill set, department or location, as well as determine his or her extension number, fax, cell phone, pager, e-mail and current whereabouts, with a few simple voice prompts.
Arial Systems is using CT Connect, Dialogic's computer telephony call control server, to enable in-office users of ArialView to connect a caller to an associate with one click on the proper contact number in the ArialView directory. The user is able to access information and connect with an associate without leaving the ArialView application.
"Dialogic's CT Media and CT Connect software provide an elegant solution for some of the more sophisticated capabilities we offer with ArialView," said Mike Wagener, Arial Systems' vice president of Product Development. "The one-click-contact feature and the ArialVoice Browser are two of the key methods we offer for enabling companies to connect with their associates faster, and Dialogic's hardware and software solutions have played an important role in enabling us to get those features from the drawing board to reality."
"Arial Systems is utilizing our CT Server products in a unique application that delivers the equivalent of an electronic personal assistant on an enterprise-wide basis," said John Landau, Dialogic's Vice President of Product Marketing. "This continues to demonstrate CT Media's ability to streamline CT development and CT Connect's ability to allow OEMs, application developers and integrators to implement complete telephony routing and monitoring functions inside their applications."
About ArialView Arial Systems' ArialView is a turnkey intranet tool that enables enterprises to manage associate resources, contact numbers and schedules in one integrated, browser-based solution. Designed for technical support centers, sales teams and other settings requiring collaborative problem-solving, it helps organizations respond quickly to customer problems and inquiries by overcoming phone tag and other barriers to getting in touch with specific associates.
The system includes an online catalog of all associates, their skill sets and all of their contact numbers, plus links to their daily calendars; an electronic in/out board showing their availability in real time; and the ability to contact a needed associate simply by clicking on the desired contact number in the ArialView interface.
With a list of every associate, his or her skills, extension number, fax, cell phone, pager, e-mail, schedule, and his or her photo, the browser-based catalog puts all personnel skill, availability and contact information in one place for the first time. Creation of the initial database is a simple process, and the system automatically converts the data and updates into HTML format for placement on the corporate Web server. Users can then search the catalog via Web browser by name, skill, department, location or even photo to locate needed resources.
The system's virtual in/out board allows associates to indicate whether they are in or out of the office, at their desks or elsewhere in the facility simply by clicking on an icon at their workstations. Integration with a company's telephony system can also indicate whether users are on or off their extensions. This information speeds the process of connecting with the needed associate.
ArialView's turnkey design eliminates the time and expense of building a custom intranet. The system's modular architecture offers a variety of options for integrating with other software applications or hardware devices to access and update the knowledge base, including a company's telephony system, PDAs, infrared, radio frequency ID, or voice recognition systems.
ArialView is a browser-based solution that is deployed on an organization's Web server, eliminating the need to install and maintain software on client PCs. It operates on a Windows NT platform with a Microsoft SQL Server database. Prices for the core module begin at $15,000.
