Some brokers don't allow NASDAQ stop orders, like Datek, I believe. E*Trade allows stops on most stocks.

If a brokerage handles stop losses for Nasdaq stocks, it means they are doing it with their own personnel. Nasdaq does not support it. I assume the reason for this has something to do with Nasdaq's system of multiple market makers vs. a single specialist on the NYSE.

Referring to the OTC/NASDAQ microcaps, etc., no STOP LOSSES.

Or is my broker lying to me about only Large CAPS & NYSE
having STOP LOSS protection?
I am good at pricing, but in his volatile market, I need to know EXACTLY the procedure on these exchanges, cause I believe
TIMING is going to be critical on some of these Issues where the technology and procedure will affect the EFFICIENCY of placing orders in the markets, particularly MARKET ORDERS on stock Issues that do not allow STOP LOSS limits etc. Where can I can the step by step procedure for placing an order through every single step of the execution,
for example, I have heard that SHORT SALES go to the bottom of the basket, and there may be a conflict of interest in the runners or persons that even E-TRADE/Ameritrade/etc sell our orders to, when they pick and choose or delay in filling them unless LIMIT ORDERS or ECN is put on them. Is it called ECN?

I am,
Truly yours,
