Kevin - <Is Intel Cooked?>

Answer to the rhetorical question, from the article you posted:

"Is Intel Cooked? I'm not going to bet on that quite yet. It's still a company with great talent, good financial assets and stellar execution. But it, too, must change and recast itself in light of the new Web-centric value equation. If Intel gets through this, it won't be the same company you or I grew up with. "

I would think AMD is in a worse position ralative to the article's points. What's AMD going to do if the PC is doomed?

Kevin, judging from the source of that article, of course, that could be an exageration. But, I have heard from multiple sources that Celeron is kicking K6-2's butt and that AMD has LOTS of unsold K6-2s. Hard to quantify LOTS, but it's not good news (& not fully reflected in the stock price, imo). Add in the scarcity of K6-3 systems, & Q2 will be a negative surprise for most AMD investors. Believe what you want, but i'm telling you what I hear from the "pool".

<Kevin - re: Sure, AMD has only sold 2 million out of 6 million K6-2's produced. Do you really believe that source is at all credible?>

First K6-III recall now this. Someone is desperate to buy AMD before the K7 introduction.
